from the Artful MySQL Tips List

There are a variety of ways to connect from SQL Server to MySQL/MariaDB, eg ...

- use SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to set up a linked server to a MySQL instance; an example is described at,13209,130975#msg-130975

- Easysoft has an ODBC/JDBC gateway - SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) supports direct management of MySQL databases, see an example setup
